         Ashleigh de Villiers

De La Salle North Catholic High School, Portland, OR (DLSNC), has announced that Ashleigh de Villiers will serve as its interim president for the 2022-23 school year.  The announcement was made by DLSNC board of trustees chairperson Mike Yonker.

De Villiers succeeds outgoing president Oscar Leong, who served as president 2018-2022.

Yonker said of De Villiers, “Ashleigh has served as the vice president for advancement at DLSNC for six years and has worked at the school since 2014. She successfully led the $26 million capital campaign, has recruited dozens of donors and business partners during her tenure, and is highly respected by the DLSNC staff and faculty. The board is thrilled she is stepping into this role.”

According to Yonker, preparations are underway for the search for a permanent DLSNC president who will be appointed in time for the start of the 2023-2024 school year.

“I want to share,” De Villiers stated, “that one of the feelings I am having right now is excitement. I am incredibly honored to serve our school and students in my new role as interim president, and I am looking forward to the year ahead.”

As interim president, de Villiers has named Andy Poundstone to serve as interim principal, pending the appointment of the new principal to succeed outgoing principal Erin Reid.  The naming is anticipated by the start of the 2022-2023 school year.  Also, de Villiers has announced the creation of a new DLSNC administrative role, Director of Mission, and that it will be filled by longtime faculty member Tim Joy, effective immediately.

“Thank you,” concluded Yonker in his announcement, “to our community of supporters, families, friends, CWSP supervisors, staff and faculty. Your support has helped the school and the students of De La Salle North Catholic get to this important point and we look forward to continuing our work together as we move into this next chapter.”
