San Francisco New Orleans District Brother Visitor Donald Johanson, FSC has announced that the De La Salle Institute offices at Mont La Salle are scheduled to reopen on June 15, 2021. This includes all District Provincialate offices, as well as the gradual return of hosted meetings and events.
The opening will occur in conjunction with California’s Blueprint for a Safer Economy (BSE) planned statewide reopening for businesses and public activities. Mont La Salle will follow directives associated with the lifting of pandemic restrictions as issued by BSE and by state and local departments of public health.
“At this point,” Brother Donald wrote, “we will continue to require that masks be worn by all staff and Brothers when in public places and we will continue to follow our safety guidelines currently in place. When we reopen for outside guests, which is planned for early June for a few small groups, guests will be required to provide documentation of full vaccination or a negative COVID test within the previous 72 hours. Masking and social distancing will continue to be required.”
Information and updates regarding how and when the reopening will affect event scheduling by the SFNO Office of Education, Christian Brothers Retreat & Conference Center, and Lasallian Christian Brothers Foundation will be announced as those decisions are made.
Brother Donald offered special thanks to the DLSI Safety Subcommittee for its diligent service. The group of Mont La Salle administrators and employees has worked throughout the pandemic to follow developments and updates in public health guidance and requirements. The Subcommittee meets regularly to develop guidelines and provide recommendations for the continued safety of District Brothers and for Mont La Salle residents and staff.
