Christopher Giangregorio

De La Salle Academy, Concord, California (DLSA) Vice-Principal Christopher Giangregorio has been appointed as the school’s next Principal, effective May 8, 2019.  The announcement was made by District of San Francisco New Orleans (SFNO) Office of Education Director Michael Daniels, Ed.D.

Giangregorio will succeed DLSA founding Principal Marilyn Paquette Nuri, who recently announced that she will be stepping down from the position at the end of the current academic year.

Daniels said, “I am pleased that Chris Giangregorio has accepted our invitation to serve and lead De La Salle Academy in a new way.  I anticipate that, as Principal, Chris’ longstanding dedication to our Lasallian mission will continue to illuminate the strong sense of mission that has been instilled at De La Salle Academy since its inception. It is with deep gratitude that I commend Chris on his appointment as Principal, and it is with great optimism that I trust in the bright future ahead for De La Salle Academy.”

SFNO Visitor Brother Donald Johanson, FSC, added, “From his time in studies at Saint Mary’s College, through his service as a Lasallian Volunteer, as a teacher in Miguel schools across the country, and most recently through his leadership at De Marillac Academy and De La Salle Academy, he has demonstrated unwavering loyalty to the students entrusted to our care. I believe he is the ideal leader to guide De La Salle Academy into its exciting new future.”

Giangregorio is a graduate of Saint Mary’s College of California, where he earned his Bachelor of Arts degree, as well as his California Teaching and Administrative Credentials.  He began his teaching career as a Lasallian Volunteer, starting at De La Salle Middle School, St. Louis, MO, and then at Resurrection School, New York, NY.  This was followed by an 11-year stint, first as teacher and then as principal, at De Marillac Academy, San Francisco, CA.  He entered his current role as Vice Principal at DLSA beginning in 2017.

Commenting on his appointment, Giangregorio stated, “It is with great excitement that I prepare to partner with current staff and welcome new educators into the community as we continue to serve the young men and families of De La Salle Academy, as well as its graduates. I am indebted to the De La Salle Christian Brothers for their ongoing trust and support, and I will rely on their accompaniment in this next step in De La Salle Academy’s journey.”
