Let us rememberMonday of the Fifth Week of Easter

Intention: For all refugees and displaced persons, especially children, that they will know God’s comfort and healing through the compassion of just and caring people everywhere.

Today’s Gospel | John 14:21-26

Jesus said to his disciples: “Whoever has my commandments and observes them is the one who loves me.  Whoever loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him and reveal myself to him.”  Judas, not the Iscariot, said to him, “Master, then what happened that you will reveal yourself to us and not to the world?”  Jesus answered and said to him, “Whoever loves me will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our dwelling with him.  Whoever does not love me does not keep my words; yet the word you hear is not mine but that of the Father who sent me.

“I have told you this while I am with you.  The Advocate, the Holy Spirit whom the Father will send in my name — he will teach you everything and remind you of all that I told you.”

From the Second Meditation for the Time of Retreat | Saint John Baptist de La Salle

You must be full of zeal, so that your students may be able to receive a share in the grace that is in you for doing good and your zeal may draw down on you the Spirit of God to inspire your students in the same way.

Eternal Father, your love has existed for all time, and each day it finds us and touches our lives.  Help us to love you through our faithfulness to your word and our love for one another.  Fill us with your Spirit to be the presence of your compassion and justice for those to whom you send us as your ambassadors.  Grant that, together, we will know our salvation in living your ways.  We ask this of you who lives and reigns with your Son and the Holy Spirit, one God for ever and ever.  Amen.

Saint John Baptist de La Salle, pray for us.
Live Jesus in our hearts forever.
