Let us rememberTuesday of the Thirtieth Week in Ordinary Time

Intention: For comfort and relief to all victims of epidemics and natural disasters, especially in regions where aid and resources are scarce.

Today’s Gospel | Luke 13: 18-21

Jesus said, “What is the Kingdom of God like?  To what can I compare it?  It is like a mustard seed that a man took and planted in the garden.  When it was fully grown, it became a large bush and the birds of the sky dwelt in its branches.”

Again he said, “To what shall I compare the Kingdom of God?  It is like yeast that a woman took and mixed in with three measures of wheat flour until the whole batch of dough was leavened.”

From the Eleventh Meditation for the Time of Retreat | Saint John Baptist de La Salle

You, who are teachers of those you guide, must take all possible care to bring those under your guidance into the liberty of the children of God, which Jesus Christ obtained for us by dying for us. To do this, you need to have two qualities in your relationship with them. The first is gentleness and patience. The second is prudence in your reproofs and corrections.

Prayer

Eternal Father, you ask us each day to follow the path of faithfulness and integrity in our lives.  Give us grace and strength to do this, especially to persevere in the face of difficulty and temptation. Fill us with courage and with confidence, and may we be joyful in work, humble in service, and compassionate and loving to one another, especially to the young and to the vulnerable.  We ask this of you who lives and reigns with your Son and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.  Amen.

Saint John Baptist de La Salle, pray for us.
Live Jesus in our hearts forever.
