Intention: In thanksgiving for all Lasallian educators, whose faith and zeal for their ministry continues to make their schools places of salvation for all, especially those most in need.
Today’s Gospel | Mark 10: 46-52
As Jesus was leaving Jericho with his disciples and a sizable crowd, Bartimaeus, a blind man, the son of Timaeus, sat by the roadside begging. On hearing that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out and say, “Jesus, son of David, have pity on me.” And many rebuked him, telling him to be silent. But he kept calling out all the more, “Son of David, have pity on me.” Jesus stopped and said, “Call him.” So they called the blind man, saying to him, “Take courage; get up, Jesus is calling you.” He threw aside his cloak, sprang up, and came to Jesus. Jesus said to him in reply, “What do you want me to do for you?” The blind man replied to him, “Master, I want to see.” Jesus told him, ‘Go your way; your faith has saved you.” Immediately he received his sight and followed him on the way.

The duty you have of obtaining grace, not only for you but also for others, and of learning how to touch hearts ought to make you devote yourself especially to prayer, which is the exercise designed for you by God to procure his graces. Is this, then, what you have most at heart? Try to perform all your actions in a spirit of prayer, one of the best ways to sanctify them.
Eternal Father, sometimes the struggles and hurts in our lives leave us feeling abandoned and alone. We pray to you, but it feels like you don’t answer. We search, but it seems as if you aren’t there. And then, without warning, you spread your love over us and teach us not to fear. You quiet us, heal us, bless us, you stretch your comfort over all everything. May we always be aware of your presence and obedient to your will. We make our prayer through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God for ever and ever. Amen.
