January 31 – February 6 is National Catholic Schools Week 2016. Begun in 1974 by the National Catholic Education Association, this annual event celebrates Catholic education in the United States, highlighting “the value Catholic education provides to young people and its contributions to our church, our communities and our nation.”
This year’s theme is “Catholic Schools: Communities of Faith, Knowledge and Service.” The Lasallian schools of the San Francisco New Orleans District and the Lasallian Region of North America will be observing the Week through prayer and liturgies, service learning, community events, and information. Follow our schools’ social media posts throughout the week as they share their own Catholic Schools Week news and activities.
