Saturday of the Second Week in Ordinary Time
Intention: That we all will come to share a deep and unconditional respect for the sanctity and dignity of life.
Today’s Gospel | Mark 3: 20-21
Jesus came with his disciples into the house. Again the crowd gathered, making it impossible for them even to eat. When his relatives heard of this they set out to seize him, for they said, “He is out of his mind.”
From the Fifth Meditation for the Time of Retreat | Saint John Baptist de La Salle
Let it be clear, then, in all your conduct toward the children who are entrusted to you, that you regard yourselves as the ministers of God, carrying out your ministry with love and a sincere and true zeal, accepting with much patience the difficulties you have to suffer, willing to be despised by men and to be persecuted, even to give your life for Jesus in the fulfillment of your ministry.
Prayer
Eternal Father, so often in life we choose to be guided by the things that we want to see if they take us away from the truth. Help us to see and embrace each day the wonder of your presence. Lead us away from doubt and cynicism, and help us to realize our need for faith. With open eyes and hearts, we can learn all that we need to learn from you. We ask this of you who lives and reigns with your Son and the Holy Spirit, one God forever and ever. Amen.
