LSL 2015 01

The 2015 Lasallian Student Leaders and Moderators.

From July 19-24, 2015, 215 students and their moderators coming from 16 Schools from the District and beyond took part in the 12th Annual Lasallian Student Leaders Program (LSL).  Hosted at Saint Mary’s College of California, with support from the Office of Admissions of Saint Mary’s College, the group engaged in a week of leadership training, reflection on Lasallian leadership, prayer, community building, and real-life leadership experiences.

Highlights of the week included an in-depth examination of the Five Core Principles and the role of student leaders in animating and promoting them; a thought-provoking presentation by John Grossman on Servant Leadership; and inclusion of new training sessions on Professionalism; Promotion and Marketing using Technology; and Goal Setting.

Student Leaders tackle a task in their work committee.

During LSL students are empowered to run various committees that mirror most of the activities and initiatives that they will need to take on as student leaders at their school.  In addition to the long standing committees of LSL, two new committees were added.  The Lasallian Formation Committee was tasked with creating a dynamic presentation about the Lasallian Family as well as recognizing schools who exemplified the 5 Core Principles. The second change involved the Public Relations Committee. Previously, this committee used to create a paper newsletter.  This year, theCommittee created a blog capturing the week, and sharing daily highlights, as well as introducing the “Humans of LSL.”
