26 Lasallian educators from across the San Francisco New Orleans District gathered February 5-7 at Saint Joseph’s Camp in Duncans Mills, California, for the Lasallian Renewal Retreat. This retreat offers an opportunity to teachers, staff, counselors, and administrators in District schools to prayerfully reflect on their vocational journey as Lasallians.
In the spirit of the Brothers’ centuries-old tradition of gathering for an annual retreat, the Renewal Retreat provides time and space for participants to be re-inspired, re-energized, and renewed in their Lasallian vocation. Time and activities are provided for individual, small group, and large group prayer and reflection. Heather Ruple and Greg Kopra from the District’s Office of Education lead the retreat. This is the ninth Renewal Retreat offered in the last 12 years.
The Lasallian Renewal Retreat is one of a number of formation activities and programs sponsored annually by the District’s Offices of Education and Formation. The Offices of Education and Formation strive to provide comprehensive, effective and developmentally appropriate formation programs for the Brothers, Lasallian Partners, Trustees, and students of the District. The goals of these activities and programs are to engage the participants intellectually, emotionally, and spiritually, to promote a deeper understanding and commitment to the Lasallian mission and charism, and to advance the Catholic and Lasallian character of the communities and works of the District.
