Over the month of December, many of the district’s high schools participated in programs which had students share the spiritual and material blessings of Christmas. La Salle High School in Pasadena celebrated its 13th annual Adopt-A-Family Program benefitting families of Hillsides and Bienvenidos Family Services. Justin-Siena High School in Napa saw its Interact Key Club join with a local parish and Catholic Charities in the annual holiday assistance program. The Sophomore Service Learning experience at Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory culminated with a December day of work at Saint Anthony’s Dining Room in San Francisco. In Sacramento, students at Christian Brothers High School held their annual coat drive to support the services offered by the Sacramento Food Bank.
La Salle Pasadena Senior Albert Law was selected to play in the snare drum line in the 2010 tournament of Roses Honor Marching Band.
On December 11, students at Saint Mary’s College High School in Berkeley picked the winning tickets for their annual student-sponsored raffle fundraiser in support of financial assistance for Saint Mary’s families. They helped raise almost $56,500.
