District Lasallians Cross the Pacific
for Filipino Youth at Risk

In the city of Bacolod, in the Philippines, is Bahay Pag-asa Youth Center. Bahay Pag-asa, which means "House of Hope," is a facility that houses and retrains young offenders in the criminal justice system and helps them to find their way toward personal and social stability and success. The District of San Francisco has been instrumental in the success of Bahay Pag-asa, having been associated with it since 2001.

Each year since 2004, Brother Dan Fenton, FSC, has traveled to Bahay Pag-asa in the summer bringing much-needed support and hands-on volunteers. Accompanying Brother Dan in 2008 were Jeffrey Morgan, a student at Saint Mary's College of California (in Moraga, CA) and Chris McNabb, a student at La Salle University in Philadelphia, PA.
