Brother Donald Johanson, Visitor, has announced that the return of the Brothers’ Communities to Mont La Salle is now complete with today’s return of the Brothers of the Holy Family Community.
The two Communities evacuated Mont La Salle on Tuesday, October 10, two days after wildfires in Napa and neighboring Sonoma counties were first reported. Their members dispersed to the several other Brothers’ Communities in the Bay Area, where they stayed for nearly one month.
Very special thanks go to those Communities that so generously hosted the Mont La Salle Brothers: Saint Mary’s College High School Community in Berkeley; De La Salle High School Community in Concord; Saint Mary’s College Communities in Moraga; and Sacred Heart Cathedral Community in San Francisco.
Generally, most areas of Mont La Salle have resumed their daily operations. Some repair and restoration tasks do remain and are being coordinated by the MLS facilities team. Also, the repairs on Redwood Road that had begun before the fires are now underway again.
As our District’s Brothers and Partners give thanks for the blessings that we have received, we ask that you please continue to keep all those who are still in the midst of recovering from loss and hardship in your thoughts and prayers. Live Jesus in our hearts forever.
